Lotus*Root lite
Thursday, September 23rd, 2010The goal of this game is to arrange the same-color cells in a “pie-slice” shape so that you have six “pie-slices”, each representing one of the six colors (see diagram).
Lotus*Root is inspired by the famous and wildly popular Rubik’s Cube. It is like Rubik’s Cube but in electronic, 2D, hexagonal environment which is designed to be playable on mobile devices. Similar to Rubik’s Cube, you can play it forever without becoming bored. Once you become proficient in solving the puzzle, the challenge then becomes the speed with which you can solve it.
The game has 1, 2, or 3 “spin-points” (points at which you can make the cells exchange position by clockwise or counter-clockwise rotations–see diagram). By the combination of choice among number of spin-points, choice of direction of spin and puzzle size, this adds to the complexity and challenge of the game by determining the levels of difficulty of the game (there are currently a maximum of 20 levels of difficulty in Lotus*Root–ranging from level 1 (“Super Easy S”) to level 20 (“Einstein XL”).
